Outlaws & Moonshine are a Southern Rock band from Indiana and they released an EP called “1919” through High Vol Music on 16th October. The first track released from the five-track EP was “Whiskey” which was included on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 20th November. The band have actually branded their style of music as “New Southern Rock” as it incorporates a country rock influence.

Outlaws & Moonshine are vocalist/guitarist Beau Van, bassist Chris Van, guitarist/vocalist Mike Back, and drummer Eric Piper. They’re currently working on new material for a follow up release in 2016. If the EP “1919” is a taste of what is come then that’s something I’ll be wanting to check out next year! The tracks all have that infectious southern rock vibe and certainly tick all the boxes for me.

The five tracks on the EP are “Cootie Brown”, “Whiskey”, “Hey Y’All”, “Redneck Me” and “Different Kind of Man”.

About “NI Rocks Recommends”

The simple idea behind “NI Rocks Recommends” is to acknowledge and promote some of the great music being submitted to Rock Radio NI. I'll not be giving marks or ratings or analyzing the tracks in great detail; just telling you something about the artist and the album. It’s a personal recommendation, not a traditional “review”!

My musical tastes cover most things rock; from the not too melodic to the not too heavy. The albums that I’ll be recommending are merely those that I would buy myself and which you’ll be hearing played on my shows on Rock Radio NI.
