Californian symphonic metal band Graveshadow release their debut album “Nocturnal Resurrection” through Mausoleum Records on 13th November. This is my second recommendation for a Mausoleum Records release scheduled for 13th November. The previous one was for Jeff Brown’s album “23 Years”, which was at the melodic extreme of my musical tastes. This recommendation for “Nocturnal Resurrection” is probably bordering on the edge of my comfort zone for any kind of metal that involves much growling / screaming. That being said, I took a liking to the album instantly when I checked out the promo link (from our friends at Rock ‘n’ Growl Promotion) before downloading it. The track “Lycan Lust” was included on the Friday NI Rocks Show back in September and “Namesake” opened the NI Rocks A-Z Show that was broadcast on 6th October.
Graveshadow formed in 2012 and released a debut EP in 2014 before signing to Mausoleum Records. The band are Heather Michele on vocals, Valerie Hudak on keyboards, William Walker III and Matt Mitchell on guitars, Benjamin Armstrong on bass and Roman Anderson on drums. Ralf Scheepers from Primal Fear provides guest vocals on the Doctor Who inspired track “Blink”.
A video has just been released for the track “Namesake”. Other than the tracks I’ve already played on the Show, my favourites would be “Blink” and “Exhumed”.

About “NI Rocks Recommends”
The simple idea behind “NI Rocks Recommends” is to acknowledge and promote some of the great music being submitted to Rock Radio NI. I'll not be giving marks or ratings or analyzing the tracks in great detail; just telling you something about the artist and the album. It’s a personal recommendation, not a traditional “review”!
My musical tastes cover most things rock; from the not too melodic to the not too heavy. The albums that I’ll be recommending are merely those that I would buy myself and which you’ll be hearing played on my shows on Rock Radio NI.
