When I got this through from Toxic Arrow Media , two things tweaked my curiosity and made me want to check it out - with the expectation that I was going to like it! Firstly, it features Reuben Archer (obviously), lead singer of 80's band Stampede whose 2011 album "A Sudden Impulse" has been played quite a bit on Rock Radio NI.
Secondly, it features an intriguing list of guest artists that includes Dave Meniketti (Y&T), Neil Murray (Whitesnake, Gary Moore, Snakecharmer), Harry James (Magnum, Thunder, Snakecharmer), Luke Morley (The Union, Thunder) and more!
"Personal Sin" is released on 19th August and will be the first album from new label Toxic Arrow Records.
All 13 tracks on the album that lasts well over an hour, feature Archer along with Stampede guitarist Rob Wolverson. Guest artists are liberally scattered throughout! The first single to be released on 22nd July is “Play My Rock ‘n Roll”. Other favourites of mine would be the title track “Personal Sin” (featuring Dave Meniketti, Harry James & John “Rhino” Edwards), “Desperation Train” (featuring Luke Morley, Derek Holt & Steve Holbrook) and Ace Café (featuring Paul Quinn, James, Edwards & Holbrook).

About “NI Rocks Recommends”
I'm not a reviewer but wanted to acknowledge some of the great music being submitted to Rock Radio NI by artists, promoters and labels both within and outside of N Ireland. That was the idea behind “NI Rocks Recommends”. I'm not giving marks or ratings, trying to categorise bands or compare artists. The albums that I’ll be recommending would be those I’d buy myself, so there’ll be a strong focus on “classic rock” sounds; however you wish to define that! What you won’t get is death metal or similar genres. Each to his own, but that ain’t what I choose to listen to!
To be honest I’m not really a big fan of the whole idea of “Reviews” as they’re simply one person’s opinion!! “NI Rocks Recommends” is therefore just my personal recommendation. Let's just say that if I've went to the bother of writing this, I think it's worth taking a listen to and you’ll be hearing it played on my shows on Rock Radio NI!!
