Released on 30th March by HighVol Music, “Medicine Man” is the third album from Canadian band Snake Eyes Seven. The band’s self-titled debut was released in 2007, followed by “13 Crows” in 2010 and each album has featured a different vocalist. Having re-released “13 Crows” in 2017, Snake Eyes Seven are back with a new line-up, determined to make things work this time. The title track of the album was included on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 6th April and we should have an interview posted with founding member, guitarist Cole Stevens in the near future.

British metal band Eliminator have been around for about ten years and finally released their debut album “Last Horizon” through Dissonance Productions on 23rd March. They’ve seen a few changes in vocalist over the years and have previously released an EP, single and demo with their previous frontmen, but “Last Horizon” is their first release with their new singer. The opening track “2019” was included on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 23rd March and a track will be featured on the NI Rocks A-Z Show within a couple of weeks.

Drive She Said were an American melodic rock band that released three albums between 1989 and 1993 and then reformed in 2003 for the original release of the album “Real Life”. That album was released via Frontiers and the same label was responsible for another come-back album in 2016 entitled “Pedal To The Metal”. Vocalist and guitarist Al Fritsch passed away in October 2017. “Real Life” has now been re-mixed and was re-released through Escape Music on 23rd March. The title track is included on the NI Rocks Show on 10th April.

I don’t post that many recommendations for live albums, but I’m making an exception for “Made In Milan” which was released by Frontiers Music on 23rd March. The simple reason for that exception? It’s L.A. Guns! Unfortunately I was in bed sick when L.A. Guns played here last year so the release of a live album is my consolation! There’s also a live DVD to accompany the album. It was all recorded at the Frontiers Rock Festival in April 2017. I included the live version of “Speed” from the album on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 23rd March.

A new W.E.T. album is a no-brainer when it comes to decisions on which new releases to post recommendations for! As anticipated, the new album “Earthage” is a quality release full of great tracks and given the talent involved in the band that can hardly come as a surprise. The album was released on 23rd March via Frontiers Music. I featured the lead-off single “Watch The Fire” on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 19th January and again on 23rd March.

There are two NI Rocks Shows each week on Rock Radio NI. These are the playlists for those shows for the month of March – all of which are still available from the On Demand Player. There are tracks by around 140 different artists on the Shows this month. There are some artists that I’m always looking to for their next release and Axel Rudi Pell is one of those. With every album you know that ARP is going to deliver fantastic anthemic tracks, powerful ballads, great stories and amazing guitars; and that vocalist Johnny Gioeli is going to rise to the same high standards. The latest studio album is “Knights Call” and it was released via SPV / Steamhammer on 23rd March. I included the track “The Wild and the Young” on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 16th March.

I was always a big fan of Scottish vocalist Fin Muir and his albums with Waysted so when we received an e-mail from our friends at Rock n Growl about a new album from an American band that featured Fin on vocals it certainly caught my attention. That band is Cattail Brew and the album is called “It’s a Bit Difficult Really”. It was released on 23rd March by Cargo Records. I’ve included the track “Side By Side” on the Friday NI Rocks Show this week.

Salty Dog were one of those LA bands from the late 80’s / early 90’s that looked like they could be set for great things, only to disappear virtually overnight. The only album to be released at the time was “Every Dog Has It’s Day”, and this was re-released recently. Salty Dog’s planned second album was recorded but never released; although it has previously made available by the band as a free download. With the band having reformed to play gigs a few years ago, the decision has been taken to release that album – entitled “Lost Treasure”. It was released on 23rd March by Escape Music. I’ve included the track “Damned If I Do” on the Friday NI Rocks Show this week (30th March).

“Turbulent Waters” is the second album from German band Slears and it was released on 23rd March through MusicBuyMail / Enghardt Media. The band formed in Bavaria in 2007 and released their debut album in 2014. However, this is my encounter with them and it’s a very favourable one! “Turbulent Waters” is an excellent heavy rock album with loads of great tunes, soaring vocals and powerful guitars throughout. There are a few slower tracks, but they’re well worth checking out too. I included the track “Haven” on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 23rd March.

Stevie R Pearce and The Hooligans initially released their self-titled debut album in September 2017, but it was re-released through Cargo Records on 23rd March. The band is fronted by Stevie R Pearce who, since 2015, has been playing guitar for Kory Clarke of Warrior Soul and Jizzy Pearl of Love/Hate. The album is a great mix of rock and blues with an underlying punk vibe – rock with attitude! I included the single “Bad Day” on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 2nd March.
