Southern Rock is generally seen as a blend of Rock n’ Roll, Blues and Country & Western and all those influences are very evident on “Take It On Faith”, the new album from Rossington; more so than on most Southern Rock that I would listen to. I love Southern Rock music and enjoy listening to good Blues guitarists, but I’m not much of a Country & Western fan; though I probably know the words to all the Country classics on those albums that my mum and dad had! There can be no denying however that there is sometimes a grey area where classic Southern Rock and traditional Country & Western music co-exist. At times, for me, this album would fall into that grey area, but there is still plenty that I like. “Take It On Faith” was released by Loud & Proud Records on 4th November. I played the opening track “Highway of Love” on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 11th November.
