“Hannah Wicklund & The Steppin’ Stones” is the self-titled, third album from South Carolina singer-guitarist Hannah Wicklund and her band. It was actually released in the USA last year, but was released in the UK on 13th September by Strawberry Moon Records. I hadn’t actually heard of her until we got the press release from Noble PR, but instantly liked what I heard when I checked out the album. The track “Bomb Through The Breeze” was included on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 9th August, followed by “Ghost” on 20th September.
“Dying Breed” is the sixth album from French band BlackRain and it was released on 13th September by Steamhammer / SPV. The band traces its origins back to 2001, but their first album was released in 2006 and they actually only came to my attention with the release of their previous album “Released” in 2016. The track “Hellfire” was included on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 30th August, followed by “Dying Breed” on 13th September.
“Circle of Dolls” is the third album from KXM, the band that features dUg Pinnick, George Lynch and Ray Luzier. The album was released on 13th September 2019 - by Frontiers Music in Europe and by Rat Pak Records in North America. Lynch has stated that it is their best album so far. The track “War of Words” was included on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 6th Sept.
English band Piston self-released their self-titled debut album on 13th September. The album is being distributed by Music Glue and came to our attention thanks to our friends at Noble PR. The band has been around for a few years, getting airplay on Planet Rock Radio and coverage in Classic Rock Magazine amongst others. The track “Rainmaker” was included on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 9th August and that was followed by the latest single “Blow It Away” on 13th September.
