Dissonance Productions have been re-releasing some classic British rock and metal albums over the past few months. Included amongst these are albums by Diamond Head and Onslaught. The Onslaught album is from the Steve Grimmett era between 1988 and 1990. Both Diamond Head and Steve Grimmett’s Grim Reaper released new albums through Dissonance in 2016 and both bands continue to tour.

The Diamond Head albums re-released were “Death and Progress” from 1993 and “Evil Live” from 1994. I included the track “To The Devil His Due” from the latter album on the Friday NI Rocks Show playlist this week. Diamond Head play a number of festivals during July and August before heading off to North America. They have a tour of the UK and Ireland lined up for November and December, including dates in Fibber Magees in Dublin on 23rd November and Voodoo in Belfast on 24th November.

The Onslaught album being re-released is “In Search of Sanity” from 1989 – this includes the single “Let There Be Rock”, which of course was a cover of the AC/DC classic. I’ve included the track “Lightning War” from this album on the playlist for the Friday NI Rocks Show this week.

Following a serious infection, Steve Grimmett had to have a leg amputated whilst on tour in Ecuador in January. He announced recently that he and Grim Reaper would commence a gradual comeback with a number of festivals – these are ‘Bang Your Head’ in Balingen, Germany on 14th July, ‘Metal Brew’ in Barnet on 15th July, ‘Drunken Monkey’ in Worcester on 5th August, ‘Trveheim” in Munich on 25th August and ‘HRH Xmas Rocka’ in Sheffield on 3rd December.

Dissonance Productions also re-released Steve Grimmett’s solo album “Personal Crisis” back in April. I’ve included the track “Karma” from this album on the playlist for the Friday NI Rocks Show this week.
