NI Rocks Recommends

I'm not a reviewer but wanted to acknowledge some of the great music being submitted to Rock Radio NI by artists, promoters and labels both within and outside of N Ireland. That was the idea behind “NI Rocks Recommends”. I'm not giving marks or ratings, trying to categorise bands or compare artists. To be honest I’m not really a big fan of reviews as they’re simply one person’s opinion!! Therefore “NI Rocks Recommends” is simply my personal recommendation. Let's just say that if I've went to the bother of writing this, I think it's worth taking a listen to and you’ll be hearing it played on my shows on Rock Radio NI!!

Soulicit are a four man band from Wichita in the USA. I kinda knew I was going to like this album when I read the PR blurb that accompanied it. So somebody has earned their pay then!! I certainly wasn’t disappointed. It’s a fantastic album that draws you in and keeps you listening all the way through. Great riffs and lyrics are there in abundance!! The storming opening track “Hell Yeah” was the first single and was widely played across the USA. “Complicated” which was the second single is a rock ballad of the highest standard. One of my favourite tracks however has to be "Beauty Queen".

The album was released in the USA back in November 2011 originally but was released in Europe by Thermal Entertainment on 31st August 2012.

SO the Fo Fighters came to town - we drank beer, we got soaked and we sang-a-long to Everlong...so fucking what?

Well, there's a lot more than that...

First off - too loud? How many eejits can be crammed into one radio phone-in whining and whingeing about a rock concert being too loud? Officialy the Foo Fighters reached 104db

FOO Fighters? Yeah, they rock and Dave Grohl has the whitest teeth in the history of rock, and they're playing in Belfast at Tennents Vital: and they should be honoured - indeed I am assured they are - to be sharing the stage with Trucker Diablo!

Of course, we are a little biased, but seriously, between the Foo Fighters and Trucker
