“Lies, Hopes & Other Stories” is the second album from Italian band Starsick System and it was released on 23rd June 2017 through Pride & Joy Music. It is over two years since the release of the debut album “Daydreamin” - which also earned a NI Rocks recommendation. With this latest album the band continues to impress and it is well worth checking out. The track “I Am The Hurricane” was featured on the Friday NI Rocks Show that was uploaded on 28th June.

The recommendation for the debut album, which was released in April 2015 through Scarlet / Bakerteam Records, can be found here - http://www.rockradioni.co.uk/back-stage/music-reviews/1851-ni-rocks-recommends-qdaydreaminq-by-starsick-system.html

Starsick System was formed in 2012 by musicians who had a wealth of experience in other bands. Their debut album was very well received, getting some great reviews and earning the band a number of high profile support slots.

The band are Marco Sandron on vocals and guitars, David Donati on guitars, Valeria Battain on bass and Ivan Moni Bidin on drums.

There are 11 tracks on the album, including a great cover of Chris Cornell’s “You Know My Name” (from ‘Casino Royale’) – a decision obviously taken prior to the untimely death of Cornell in May. Other tracks worthy of highlighting are “I Am The Hurricane”, “Bulletproof”, “Sinner”, “Come One, Come All” and “Perfect Lie”.

About “NI Rocks Recommends”

The simple idea behind “NI Rocks Recommends” is to acknowledge and promote some of the great music being submitted to Rock Radio NI. I'll not be giving marks or ratings or analyzing the tracks in great detail; just telling you something about the artist and the album. It’s a personal recommendation to go check something out, not a traditional “review”!

My musical tastes cover most things rock; from the not too melodic to the not too heavy. The albums that I’ll be recommending are those that you’ll hear me playing tracks from on my shows on Rock Radio NI.
