Three reasons to recommend “Wild At Heart” by The Wild which was released via Steamhammer / SPV on 17th February – (1) It’s a great album. (2) They’re Canadian – and who doesn’t love the Canadians! (3) I get to write about guys called Dylan Villain, The Kid, Boozus and Reese Lightning – awesome!!

I played the track “Livin Free” on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 27th January and “White Devil” on the Show on 24th February.

The Wild! are from British Columbia and their first single and video for “Road House” in 2014 got a lot of media attention, leading to them being signed by eOne Music Canada. “Wild at Heart” is the band’s second major release, following on from the 7 track EP “GxDxWxB” (God Damn Wild Boys) in 2015.

The band members have some great stage names that are well worth repeating again! The band are Dylan Villain on vocals and lead guitar, The Kid on guitar, Boozus on bass and Reese Lightning on drums.

There are ten tracks on the album and the first single to be released from it was “Ready To Roll”. That would be amongst my favourite tracks, along with the two I’ve played on the Show, “Six Hundred Sixty Six” and “Down at the Bottom”.

About “NI Rocks Recommends”

The simple idea behind “NI Rocks Recommends” is to acknowledge and promote some of the great music being submitted to Rock Radio NI. I'll not be giving marks or ratings or analyzing the tracks in great detail; just telling you something about the artist and the album. It’s a personal recommendation to go check something out, not a traditional “review”!

My musical tastes cover most things rock; from the not too melodic to the not too heavy. The albums that I’ll be recommending are those that you’ll hear me playing tracks from on my shows on Rock Radio NI.
