The Roth Brock Project brings together guitarist John Roth and singer Terry Brock to release an album of the same name. “Roth Brock Project” was released via Frontiers Records on 4th October. I played the track “Young Gun” on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 11th November.

Terry Brock worked as a backing vocalist on the Kansas album “Drastic Measures” in 1983, before moving on to the Steve Morse Band, Strangeways and currently Leroux. John Roth’s first work was with Black Oak Arkansas in 1986 and he went on to work with the late Jimi Jamison and currently both Winger and Starship featuring Mickey Thomas. Roth and Brock met when they were working on Giant’s “Promise Land” album.

There’s an interview with John Roth on ‘Guitar World’ that is worth checking out  -

There are 11 tracks on the album and my favourites would include “”Young Gun”, “What’s It To Ya”, “If That’s What It Takes”, “We Are” and “Reason to Believe”.

About “NI Rocks Recommends”

The simple idea behind “NI Rocks Recommends” is to acknowledge and promote some of the great music being submitted to Rock Radio NI. I'll not be giving marks or ratings or analyzing the tracks in great detail; just telling you something about the artist and the album. It’s a personal recommendation to go check something out, not a traditional “review”!

My musical tastes cover most things rock; from the not too melodic to the not too heavy. The albums that I’ll be recommending are those that you’ll hear me playing tracks from on my shows on Rock Radio NI.
