I’ve been a fan of The Last Vegas for a few years, though they’ve been around for much longer than that, and they are one of the bands near the top of my “must see live” wish list! I posted interviews with the band in August 2012 and May 2014 and this will be their third album that I’ve posted a recommendation for. The latest release is entitled “Eat Me” and it was released through AFM Records on 18th March. Once again The Last Vegas have lived up to expectation and delivered a fantastic album. I played the first single from the album “Bloodthirsty” on the Friday NI Rocks Show that aired on the same date.

Lead singer Chad Cherry has to be one the coolest guys on the rock scene, with his own killer clothing range that is worn by members of the Alice Cooper Band amongst others. The other members of The Last Vegas are Adam Arling and Bryan Wilkinson on guitars, Danny Smash on bass and Nathan Arling on drums.

“Eat Me” was once again recorded in Johnny K’s Groovemaster Studios in Chicago, although this time there were specific time restrictions with Chad Cherry due to relocate to LA. New tracks were written, some old demos revamped and then all were recorded within a tight timeframe.

“Eat Me” is the seventh album studio album from The Last Vegas since 2004. Their most successful release to date has probably been “Whatever Gets You Off” from 2009.  That album was produced by Nikki Sixx, DJ Ashba and Marti Frederiksen and was released through Eleven Seven Music.

My favourite tracks on “Eat Me” would include “Bloodthirsty”, “Here We Go Again”, “Along For The Ride”, “To Be Treated” and “Anything It Takes”.

The band has recently announced tour dates in Germany in November, supporting The Quireboys. Hopefully I’ll get the chance to see them in N Ireland or somewhere in the UK before too long!

About “NI Rocks Recommends”

The simple idea behind “NI Rocks Recommends” is to acknowledge and promote some of the great music being submitted to Rock Radio NI. I'll not be giving marks or ratings or analyzing the tracks in great detail; just telling you something about the artist and the album. It’s a personal recommendation to go check something out, not a traditional “review”!

My musical tastes cover most things rock; from the not too melodic to the not too heavy. The albums that I’ll be recommending are merely those that I would buy myself and which you’ll be hearing played on my shows on Rock Radio NI.
