“Waterfall” is the third album to be released by Voodoo Hill – a band which sees iconic singer and bass player Glenn Hughes collaborating with Italian guitarist / producer Dario Mollo. It’s actually more than 10 years since the previous release album by Voodoo Hill and the first album was released back in 2000. All the albums have been released through Frontiers Records; with “Waterfall” coming out on 16th October. Glenn Hughes, best known for his involvement with Deep Purple, is currently on tour with Doug Aldrich and Pontus Engborg and they play The Limelight in Belfast on 22nd October.

Mollo had been working on tracks for other projects when approached to do another Voodoo Hill album with Hughes. Eleven of these tracks were then shared with Hughes to provide his input. The result is “Waterfall”; an album for any lovers of that classic hard rock sound. I played “All That Remains” on the Friday NI Rocks Show a few weeks ago and “”Evil Thing” is included on the Show this week. Other favourites include “The Well”, “Rattle Shake Bone”, “Eldorado” and “White Feather”.

Dario Mollo has also released three albums with former Black Sabbath singer Tony Martin and later played in his band Headless Cross. Hughes has of course been involved with numerous projects including, most recently, Black Country Communion, California Breed and Kings of Chaos.

Others involved on the album are Dario Patti on keyboards, Roberto Gualdi on drums and Fulvio Gaslini on bass.

About “NI Rocks Recommends”

The simple idea behind “NI Rocks Recommends” is to acknowledge and promote some of the great music being submitted to Rock Radio NI. I'll not be giving marks or ratings or analyzing the tracks in great detail; just telling you something about the artist and the album. It’s a personal recommendation, not a traditional “review”!

My musical tastes cover most things rock; from the not too melodic to the not too heavy. The albums that I’ll be recommending are merely those that I would buy myself and which you’ll be hearing played on my shows on Rock Radio NI.
