Some might remember Skintrade from the early 90s when the Swedish rockers toured Europe with the likes of Motorhead, DAD, and Therapy and released two highly regarded albums. The band split in 1995, but are back with a fantastic album entitled “Refueled” that was released on 3rd March. The reformation actually started in 2011 when the band members reunited and released “Skintrade – Past & Present”, which included 3 brand new songs and 12 re-mastered songs from previous albums. The new album “Refueled” features 12 excellent tracks that all hard rock fans will definitely want to check out!

Skintrade consists of Matti Alfonzetti on lead vocals and guitar, Hakan Masen Persson on drums, Håkan Calmroth on bass and Stefan Bergström on guitar. Some might recognise Alfonzetti’s name more recently as a member of the band Red, White and Blues.

The first single from the album was released in January and was entitled “Monster”. Other personal favourites include “Liar”, “Hardcore MF Heartattack”, “Mountain” and “Worse Than Wasted” but to be honest this is one of those albums where there are no fillers. Any of the tracks could become favourites!

About “NI Rocks Recommends”

I'm not a reviewer and I certainly don’t claim to be a journalist, but I wanted to acknowledge some of the great music being submitted to Rock Radio NI by artists, promoters and labels. That was the simple idea behind “NI Rocks Recommends”. To be honest I’m not really a big fan of the whole idea of “Reviews” as they just represent one person’s opinion!!  So I'm not giving marks or ratings, trying to categorise bands or compare artists. The albums that I’ll be recommending are merely those that I would buy myself and which you’ll be hearing played on my shows on Rock Radio NI.
