“Interceptor” is the latest offering from German hard rockers Mad Max, following on from the comeback album “Another Night of Passion” released last year. That album marked the 25th anniversary of the release of the album “Night of Passion” in 1987 and saw the original line-up getting back together. The album is released by Steamhammer / SPV in Germany on 25th October, in the rest of Europe on 28th October and in North America on 5th November. In the press release provided by Work Hard PR the band describe the album as “full throttle from start to finish” and I would have to agree with that statement and their claim that “it rocks”!! The album is full of great guitar driven rock tracks and definitely one worth checking out.
“Interceptor” was produced by singer / guitarist Michael Voss who recently toured with Michael Schenker’s band and that influences some of the tracks on the album. The rest of the band consists of Jurgen Breforth on guitar, Roland Bergman on bass and Axel Kruse on drums.
Favourite tracks for me are the opener “Save Me”, “Sons of Anarchy” (no link to the TV series as far as I can figure out); the thought provoking “Five Minute Warning”, “Show No Mercy” which is a revamped version of a bonus track off “Night of Passion” from 1987 about the Wounded Knee Massacre in 1890 and “Streets of Tokyo” (written by former Scorpions drummer Herman Rarebell).

About “NI Rocks Recommends”
I'm not a reviewer and I certainly don’t claim to be a journalist, but I wanted to acknowledge some of the great music being submitted to Rock Radio NI by artists, promoters and labels. That was the simple idea behind “NI Rocks Recommends”. To be honest I’m not really a big fan of the whole idea of “Reviews” as they just represent one person’s opinion!! So I'm not giving marks or ratings, trying to categorise bands or compare artists. The albums that I’ll be recommending are merely those that I would buy myself and which you’ll be hearing played on my shows on Rock Radio NI.
