Goatschlager are a four-piece band with Darren Balmer on vocals, Darren Cushley on guitar, Simon Mckillen (a.k.a Skippy) on bass and Mark Davidson (a.k.a. Basie) on drums.

Billed as the second chapter of the story begun on 2013's "The Mystery of Time" "Ghostlights" is a darker, moodier album, which has stripped back a lot of the previous orchestration and has a sound more focused on metal while still remaining true to the operatic nature of Sammet's compositions and arrangements.

Nordic Union is another of those music collaborations which Frontiers have become the masters of creating over the last few years. This one brings together Ronnie Atkins of the Pretty Maids and Erik Martensson from Eclipse and W.E.T. and has resulted in an album that is well worth checking out. The self-titled “Nordic Union” was released by Frontiers on 29th January. Earlier this month I played “The War Has Begun” on the Friday NI Rocks Show and “Hypocrisy” on the NI Rocks A-Z Show.
