I always look forward to the release of a House of Lords album as they are undoubtedly one of the best bands at delivering a brand of rock music that can be as heavy as it is melodic. Their latest album “Indestructible” was released through Frontiers Records on 5th June. It may have taken me a few weeks to get round to publishing a recommendation, but I’ve already played several tracks from the album on the Friday NI Rocks Show and more will follow! “Indestructible” is the tenth studio album from House of Lords since they formed in 1989 and follows on from “Precious Metal” released in February 2014.
The House of Lords line-up has remained stable since 2006, with James Christian on vocals, Jimi Bell on guitars, Chris McCarvill on bass and BJ Zampa on drums. This line-up has now delivered six excellent albums. I was fortunate enough to interview James for the Friday NI Rocks Show in February 2014 following the release of “Precious Metal” - http://www.rockradioni.co.uk/interviews/1474-ni-rocks-interview-with-james-christian-from-house-of-lords.html
Favourite tracks would include the single “Go To Hell”, the title track “Indestructible”, “Pillar of Salt”, “100 Mph”, “We Will Always Be One”, “Die To Tell” and “Eye of the Storm”.
Our colleagues at Belfast Metalheads Reunited posted a review of “Indestructible” as well. I don’t share some of Jonny’s views, but you can check it out as well -http://www.rockradioni.co.uk/news/blogs/belfast-metalheads-reunited/2022-album-review-house-of-lords-can-be-lively-and-sleepy-in-the-indestrutible-chamber.html
About “NI Rocks Recommends”
The simple idea behind “NI Rocks Recommends” is to acknowledge and promote some of the great music being submitted to Rock Radio NI. I'll not be giving marks or ratings or analyzing the tracks in great detail; just telling you something about the artist and the album. It’s a personal recommendation, not a traditional “review”!
My musical tastes cover most things rock; from he not too melodic to the not too heavy. The albums that I’ll be recommending are merely those that I would buy myself and which you’ll be hearing played on my shows on Rock Radio NI.
