French rockers Dygitals released the album “Dynamite” in Europe on 21st May via Mausoleum Records. I’ve already played a couple of tracks from the album on the Friday NI Rocks Show over the past few weeks and should really have posted a recommendation before now, but better late than never!! Dygitals originally formed in 1984, building a solid fan-base in France and touring through the USA in 1988/89 before calling it a day in 1990. After short-lived reunions in 2003 and 2005, both of which saw the release of new albums, the band reformed in 2009 and released another album in 2012.

The latest release “Dynamite” was sent to us by our good friends at Rock N Growl Promotions and was one of those albums that I like instantly from the first listen. The tracks “30 Years of Rock” and “No Speed Limit” have already featured on shows. Others that would particularly stand out are “Sin City” (not an AC/DC cover), “No Way Out”, “We Wanna Live Free” and the title track “Dynamite”.

Dygitals are Herve Traisnel on vocals, David Dugaro on lead guitar, Jean-Marc Lavayssiere on rhythm guitar, Jack Gayffier on bass and Alain Clouet on drums.

About “NI Rocks Recommends”

The simple idea behind “NI Rocks Recommends” is to acknowledge and promote some of the great music being submitted to Rock Radio NI. I'll not be giving marks or ratings or analyzing the tracks in great detail; just telling you something about the artist and the album. It’s a personal recommendation, not a traditional “review”!

My musical tastes cover most things rock; from the not too melodic to the not too heavy. The albums that I’ll be recommending are merely those that I would buy myself and which you’ll be hearing played on my shows on Rock Radio NI.
