Danish rockers Pretty Maids release “Louder Than Ever” through Frontiers Records on 21st March. The album is part re-recordings of tracks from the 1995 – 2006 period and part new material, with five of the twelve tracks being the latter. The band celebrated their 30th anniversary recently with an extensive tour to support the release of “Motherland” in 2013 and “Louder Than Ever” has been labelled as an in-between album pending release of their next studio album. That shouldn’t take anything away from the current release however, as the new tracks are all great tunes and more than compliment the reworked tracks.
New tracks “Deranged” and “Nuclear Boomerang” are probably two of my favourite tunes from the album, and overall the newer tracks are in my opinion the pick of the bunch, but there really isn’t a track that I’d skip through. It may be an “in-between” album but it delivers 100% and I’m certainly looking forward to the next studio album if “Louder Than Ever” is any indication of what is coming.
The CD also come with a bonus DVD that includes footage from the recent tour, interviews etc.

About “NI Rocks Recommends”
I'm not a reviewer and I certainly don’t claim to be a journalist, but I wanted to acknowledge some of the great music being submitted to Rock Radio NI by artists, promoters and labels. That was the simple idea behind “NI Rocks Recommends”. To be honest I’m not really a big fan of the whole idea of “Reviews” as they just represent one person’s opinion!! So I'm not giving marks or ratings, trying to categorise bands or compare artists. The albums that I’ll be recommending are merely those that I would buy myself and which you’ll be hearing played on my shows on Rock Radio NI.
