American band Every Mothers Nightmare achieved a fair level of success in the early 90’s, releasing two albums on the Arista Records label and getting a fair bit of exposure with the videos for their singles. Another three albums were released between 2000 and 2002. The reformed band released an EP in 2015 and that is to be followed by a full length album called “Grind” on 6th October. More details in the press release below.

I’ve been a big fan of American band Bobaflex since I heard their 2011 album “Hell In My Heart”. Since then they’ve released the albums “Charlatans’s Web” (2013) and “Anything That Moves” (2015) and I posted an interview with singer / guitarist Shaun online back in 2013. Their latest album “Eloquent Dreams” is released through Thermal Entertainment LLC on 25th August and I thought that was a good opportunity to get someone from the band onto the Show. I spoke to bass player Jymmy Tolland via Skype on 23rd August to talk about the band, the album, future plans and more.
That interview was featured on the Friday NI Rocks Show dated 25th August along with 2 tracks from the new album and a track from each of the previous three albums. That Show is now available on our MixCloud page - https://www.mixcloud.com/NIRocks/interview-with-jymmy-tolland-from-bobaflex-on-the-friday-ni-rocks-show-on-25th-august-2017/

Janet Gardner will of course be known to many as the front woman of Vixen, but on 18th August she releases her first solo album. The self-titled album was recorded with her husband Justin James and is released through Pavement Music. I was fortunate enough to record an interview with Janet last month (http://www.rockradioni.co.uk/interviews/3171-ni-rocks-interview-with-janet-gardner-vixen.html ). Chatting with her it was obvious that there had been some nervousness going into the project, but that once commenced it was a labour of love and an album that she is extremely proud of. And she has every reason to be; it is a fantastic album and I was delighted to hear that we can expect more in the future. We played four tracks from the album during the interview that was broadcast on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 21st July.
