French band Shadow Breaker released their self-titled debut album through Pride & Joy Music on 24th January. The band is actually the third collaboration between two of its members, following on from Savourey in the 90’s and Northwind in the 00’s. This new project is heavily inspired by the big rock bands of the late 70’s and early 80’s. The track “City of Lights” was included on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 3rd January, followed by “Fly Me” on 14th February.

“Age of Fear” is the debut album from Canadian melodic rock band Storm Force and it was released by Escape Music on 25th January. Notably, the band features guitarist Greg Fraser who was a founding member of Brighton Rock and also played in Helix. The track “Because of You” was included on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 3rd January and “Age of Fear” on the Show on 14th February.
Frontiers Music continues to demonstrate that there is much more to the label than classic rock bands and the 80’s generation of artists with the release of the self-titled debut album from Passion. The album was released on 24th January and features former Night By Night vocalist Daniel Rossall – performing under the name Lion Ravarez. The track “Too Bad For Baby” was included on the Friday NI Rocks Show in November, followed by “Trespass on Love” on 3rd January and “Back” on 31st January.
Four years after the release of “Heavy Rock Radio” Norwegian singer Jorn Lande returns with “Heavy Rock Radio II – Executing The Classics”; another album full of tracks given the Jorn cover treatment. The new album was released on 24th January by Frontiers Music. In between those two albums Jorn has also released another solo studio album, a live album and a compilation box set with Frontiers. The track “Lonely Night” was included on the Friday NI Rocks Show in November, followed by “Needles and Pins” in December.
