“Armageddonize” is the fifth album from Swedish band Eclipse and it was released on 20th February 2015 through Frontiers Records. The album maintains the band’s melodic rock core, but there does seem to be a heavier edge to many of the tracks. Singer Erik Martensson and guitarist Magnus Henriksson continue to be the driving force behind the band.

Eclipse formed in 1999 and would probably have released more than 5 albums in the intervening 15 years if it wasn’t for the fact that Martensson and Henriksson were involved in writing or producing for numerous other artists, not the least of which was W.E.T.

I’ve already played “Love Bites” on the Friday NI Rocks Show, but I could equally have chosen any of the 11 tracks on the album. Other particular favourites include “The Storm”, “Blood Enemies”, “Live Like I’m Dying” and “Breakdown”.

Eclipse play a handful of shows in the UK between 10th and 18th March including the Hard Rock Hell AOR Festival.

About “NI Rocks Recommends”

The simple idea behind “NI Rocks Recommends” is to acknowledge and promote some of the great music being submitted to Rock Radio NI. I'll not be giving marks or ratings or analyzing the tracks in great detail; just telling you something about the artist and the album. What it isn’t is a “review”!

My musical tastes cover most things rock; from the not too melodic to the not too heavy. The albums that I’ll be recommending are merely those that I would buy myself and which you’ll be hearing played on my shows on Rock Radio NI.
