“Like A Fire” is the debut album from German band Sign X and it was released on 6th December by Pride & Joy Music. The band formed only recently, following the demise of the long-established Hamburg based band Châlice, and features three of the founding members of that band. The track “Fall” was included on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 20th December.

Guitarist Oliver Scheer, bass-player Steve Lagleder and drummer Michael Mehl were all founding members of the band Châlice in 1992. They parted ways with singer (and founding member) Gino Naschke and current keyboard player Axel Hoffman recently after releasing seven studio albums between 1995 and 2015.

Joining the former Châlice members in Sign X are singer Sebastian Zierof and keyboard player Michel Jotzer. The band released an initial EP in early 2018 and has now followed that with their debut album “Like A Fire”.

About “NI Rocks Recommends”

This is purely a personal recommendation and some information about the artist and the album; not a traditional ‘review’. Most of the recommendations posted are for albums that have been sent to us digitally by the record label or promoter. Quite often I’ve also bought the album on CD or vinyl as well and sometimes I just feel the need to post a recommendation for an album that I’ve bought myself. Essentially these are albums that I like and which I’ve played some tracks from on the Shows on Rock Radio NI!
