Romeo’s Daughter release “Spin”, their fourth album, through RD Records on 20th April; just ahead of their short tour through England and Scotland with FM and No Hot Ashes during May. The band is best known for their debut, self-titled release back in 1988 (being of a certain age, I of course have this on vinyl !!), but they has been receiving a lot of recognition since reforming more than five years ago. “Spin” builds on the solid base of their 2012 comeback album “Rapture” and is well worth checking out. I’ve already played the opening track “Touch” on the Friday NI Rocks Show and there’ll be more to follow!
Romeo’s Daughter are fronted of course by singer Leigh Matty; then there’s Craig Joiner on guitars, Ed Poole on bass and Andy Wells on drums. They recently played the Hard Rock Hell AOR Festival and have been getting great reviews for their live performances as well as the new albums. It would be great to see them make it over to N Ireland at some stage.
There are 10 great tracks on the album. In addition to “Touch”, my own favourites would be “Already Gone”, “Enemy”, “Radio”, “All Because of You” and “Tall Buildings”.
There hasn’t been an official video release yet from “Spin” so here’s the video for “Bittersweet” from the album “Rapture”.

About “NI Rocks Recommends”
The simple idea behind “NI Rocks Recommends” is to acknowledge and promote some of the great music being submitted to Rock Radio NI. I'll not be giving marks or ratings or analyzing the tracks in great detail; just telling you something about the artist and the album. It’s a personal recommendation, not a traditional “review”!
My musical tastes cover most things rock; from the not too melodic to the not too heavy. The albums that I’ll be recommending are merely those that I would buy myself and which you’ll be hearing played on my shows on Rock Radio NI.
