To me personally, mention of German band Bonfire will always invoke memories of the late 80’s and the album “Point Blank” in particular. That of course is a bit unfair as the band has been around for over 30 years and has just released their 15th studio album. That album is called “Temple of Lies” and it was released through AFM Records on 13th April. The track “Crazy Over You” was included on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 20th April.
“Black Dog” is the second album from German band Innfight, following on from their debut “Boulevard of Pain” in 2015. The band are described as Alternative Metal / Rock and the press release says that fans of Alter Bridge, 3 Doors Down or Shinedown should check them out! It so happens that I like all three of those bands, and I do also like the new album from Innfight, though it’d be a bit heavier than anything from those bands! The album was released on 13th April by Pride & Joy Music. The opening track “Not Me” was included on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 6th April.
Love/Hate frontman Jizzy Pearl releases an excellent new album called “All You Need Is Soul” through Frontiers Music on 11th May. The album is being released amidst a UK tour that kicks off on 2nd May and which includes a show in the Diamond Rock Club, Ahoghill on 12th May. Jizzy has been a guest on the Friday NI Rocks Show on a couple of occasions and I thought it’d be great to chat to him again to talk about the new album and the tour.
The interview was included on the Friday NI Rocks Show for 27th April. That Show is now available on our MixCloud page - https://www.mixcloud.com/NIRocks/interview-with-jizzy-pearl-on-the-friday-ni-rocks-show-on-27th-april-2018/
“As Time Turns To Dust” is the fourth album from French symphonic metal band Whyzdom and it was released on 6th April by Scarlet Records. The band have been around for about ten years and had a number of female singers in the initial years but Marie MacLeod has fronted Whyzdom since 2013 and this is her second album with the band. I included the track “Armageddon” on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 6th April.
