“A New Evil” is the second album from The Ferrymen and it was released via Frontiers Music on 11th October. The band features singer Ronnie Romero, guitarist Magnus Karlsson and drummer Mike Terrana. Karlsson, who also wrote the tracks and plays bass and keyboards on the album as well as guitar, was my guest on the Friday NI Rocks Show last week, when we played four tracks from the album. The singles “A New Evil” and “Bring Me Home” had both been included on the Show previously as well.
The name Soren Andersen is one that I’ve encountered many times over the past few years – as guitarist, songwriter and / or producer. On 11th October he released a solo, instrumental album called “Guilty Pleasures” through Mighty Music. It features guest appearances from Marco Mendoza, Glenn Hughes and Chad Smith. The track “City of Angels” was included on the Friday NI Rocks Show back in May and there will be another track on the Show this week.

“A New Dawn” is the second album from Swedish band Age of Reflection and it was released on 27th September on the AOR Heaven label. I’d posted a recommendation for the first album released in 2017 and both albums are mixed and mastered by Erik Mårtensson from Eclipse and W.E.T. The band will be playing four shows in England during November. The title track from the album was included on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 11th October.

“The Infinite Loop” is the third album from the band Sifting and it was released by Eclipse Records on 27th September. The band was formed in Venezuela in 2010 but is now based in California. I can’t say that I’m a particularly huge fan of the progressive metal genre, but there’s a lot of tracks on this album that I liked and it’s certainly worth checking out. The third single from the album, “Enough”, was included on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 11th October.
