Having a former member of Black Sabbath in your line-up must be a big boost when it comes to doing promotion for a new album. Having a solid, quality product to deliver always helps too, no matter who you have in the band. Martiria have both and their new album “R-evolution” that is released through Rocksector Records on 10th February is well worth checking out.

The band originally formed in Rome as a doom metal outfit, but the members parted ways until reforming in 2002 and released their debut album in 2004. “R-evolution” is the sixth album from the band, but the first with the current line-up of Andy Menario (guitar and keyboards), Flavio Cosma (vocals), Derek Maniscalco (bass), Vinny Appice (drums) and Marco R. Capelli (lyrics).

My own personal favourites from the album are opening track “King of Shadows”, “Salem”, “The Road Of Tenochtitlan” and first single “Revolution”.

About “NI Rocks Recommends”

I'm not a reviewer and I certainly don’t claim to be a journalist, but I wanted to acknowledge some of the great music being submitted to Rock Radio NI by artists, promoters and labels. That was the simple idea behind “NI Rocks Recommends”. To be honest I’m not really a big fan of the whole idea of “Reviews” as they just represent one person’s opinion!!  So I'm not giving marks or ratings, trying to categorise bands or compare artists. The albums that I’ll be recommending are merely those that I would buy myself and which you’ll be hearing played on my shows on Rock Radio NI.
