“Delivering The Black” is the latest album from German band Primal Fear and is released by Frontiers Records on 27th January. Primal Fear have been delivering solid, riff-laden, powerful metal since 1997 and with this latest offering the band have raised the bar even higher. “Delivering The Black” could just have easily have been called “Delivering The Goods” but that would have been way too corny and clichéd! Singer Ralf Scheepers has stated that the band set out to create their best album ever and that he is extremely proud of the result. It took me just one listen to understand why.
The album contains a couple of epic tracks that clock in at around 7 and 9 minutes and include big orchestral arrangements – “When Death Comes Knocking” and “One Night in December” – as well as a powerful rock ballad “Born With a Broken Heart” that features Liv Kristine of Leaves Eyes on backing vocals.
Other highlights for me are the opening track “King For A Day” and title track “Delivering The Black”.
Primal Fear are Ralf Scheepers on vocals, Magnus Karlsson and Alex Beyrodt on guitars, Randy Black on drums and Mat Sinner on bass.

About “NI Rocks Recommends”
I'm not a reviewer and I certainly don’t claim to be a journalist, but I wanted to acknowledge some of the great music being submitted to Rock Radio NI by artists, promoters and labels. That was the simple idea behind “NI Rocks Recommends”. To be honest I’m not really a big fan of the whole idea of “Reviews” as they just represent one person’s opinion!! So I'm not giving marks or ratings, trying to categorise bands or compare artists. The albums that I’ll be recommending are merely those that I would buy myself and which you’ll be hearing played on my shows on Rock Radio NI.
