I don’t post nearly enough recommendations for blues rock / rock and blues albums, though it’s a genre that I’ve always had a soft spot for. Indeed, I’ve had albums by some of the legendary blues artists in my collection for about thirty years. It was great therefore to listen to “Blues Power” and experience modern blues-rock at its best. This is the third album by British trio Absolution and it is released on 30th September via Mighty Music (Target group). The track “Price I Gotta Pay” is included on the Friday NI Rock Show on 30th September.
“Murder And The Motive” is the excellent debut album from Welsh band Those Damn Crows. In fact it’s probably one of the best debut albums you’ll hear this year – in my humble opinion anyway! It’s a shame they’re from Wales rather than Northern Ireland (just kidding guys!), but then again the Welsh do have a good track record for rock bands too! The album was released on 26th September – I played the track “Blink Of An Eye” on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 23rd September.

Following a gap of almost thirty years, Steve Grimmett’s Grim Reaper have just released album number four! The NWOBHM legends return with “Walking In The Shadows” which was released by Dissonance Productions on 23rd September. Steve Grimmett is my guest on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 30th September when we talk about the album and play 4 tracks from it. The title track from the album was also included on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 23rd Sept.

Swedish rockers Bulletrain released their second album, “What You Fear The Most”, through AOR Heaven on 23rd September. This is the follow up to “Start Talking” which was released in October 2014. I’d posted a recommendation for that album and tracks from it featured on the Shows over the last two years ( http://www.rockradioni.co.uk/back-stage/music-reviews/1705-ni-rocks-recommends-qstart-talkingq-by-bulletrain.html ). I knew then I’d enjoy listening to “What You Fear The Most” and that tracks would be featured on our playlists. I played “Can’t Get Away” on the NI Rocks A-Z Show on 6th September and “Memory Lane” is included on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 23rd September.
