“Speedway” is the debut album from British band Blood Red Saints and it was released through Frontiers Records on 4th December. The band only formed in 2014 but it brings together musicians who had performed with bands such as In Faith, Eden’s Curse, Angels or Kings, Lost Weekend and the Gary Hughes Band. I spoke to singer Pete Godfrey by phone on 3rd December to find out more about the album and the band. This interview is included on the Friday NI Rocks Show that is broadcast on 11th December. Major Instinct are a Swedish band formed following the demise of the successful M.ILL.ION in 2014. The latter band had been founded by bass player B.J. Laneby in 1989 and released seven successful albums over 25 years. Laneby is now the driving force behind Major Instinct who released their debut album entitled “Roots and Wings” through the AOR Heaven label on 30th November. The album release was preceded by the release of the single “High Five” and a video to accompany it.
