The release of “Necropolis” on the Rock of Angels Records (ROAR!) label on 30th November marks the return of metal band Sacrosanct, 25 years after their last album. The band was originally active between 1988 and 1994 and released three albums during that period. I was a little slow picking up on this release, but I’ll be playing a track from the album on the Friday NI Rocks Show next week.
“Outlaw Son” is the second solo album from Jerome Mazza, a singer/songwriter and producer from Pittsburgh. He has previously fronted the bands Angelica and Pinnacle Point. The album was released by Escape Music on 23rd November. I included the title track “Outlaw Son” on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 30th November and “The Dark Side” on the Show on 28th December.
“The Ghost Ward Diaries” is the sixth album from Swedish band Electric Boys and their third since reforming in 2009. It was released by Mighty Music on 23rd November. The band who are probably best known for the hit single “All Lips ‘n’ Hips” will be playing The Diamond Rock Club in Ahoghill on 23rd March as part of the tour to support the release of “The Ghost Ward Diaries”. I included the single “Hangover in Hannover” on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 23rd November.

The cover for Tank’s 1982 debut album “Filth Hounds of Hades” was probably one of the most iconic of the NWOBHM era and the album itself is recognised as a classic in the genre. Now, more than 35 years later, there are two different versions of the band. Lead singer Algy Ward’s Tank released the album “Sturmpanzer” through Dissonance Productions on 16th November. The track “No More War” was included on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 21st December.
