“The Atlantic” is the latest studio album from Swedish band Evergrey and it was released on 25th January through AFM records. The album is the final part of a trilogy about the adventure of life that commenced with “Hymns for the Broken” in 2014 and continued with “The Storm Within” in 2016. It is the bands eleventh studio album since forming in 1995. The track “A Silent Arc” was included on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 18th January.
Over the past few weeks there has been a lot of publicity about the situation with Pledgemusic and their failure to pay artists. This has led to a stream of campaign cancellations by artists such as Danny Vaughn and Last In Line. Others, such as Cormac Neeson have had to make adjustments to their campaigns. The latest band to cancel is The Quireboys who have released a statement on their plans to release their new album “Amazing Disgrace”.

Jetboy were one of those California bands that emerged in the 80’s and then disappeared at the start of the 90’s after releasing a couple of good albums. The band reformed in 2006 and on 25th January this year released a new album called “Born To Fly” through Frontiers Music. The title track was released last August and was included on the Friday NI Rocks Show then. It is also featured on the Show on 15th February. The track “Beating The Odds” was included on the Show in November.
Kane Roberts is probably remembered by most as the muscle-bound guitarist for Alice Cooper back in the 80’s. However, he has been involved in many projects over the years and has just released his latest solo album, called “The New Normal” through Frontiers Music on 25th January. There are a number of notable guest appearances on the new album. I’ve played a few tracks on the Friday NI Rocks Show recently – “Forever Out of Place” on 16th November, “King of the World” on 18th January and “Beginning of the End” on 8th February.
