“The Inevitable War” is the second album from London metal band Amulet and it was released on 17th May by Dissonance Productions. The band have went through quite a few line-up changes since their debut album in 2014 and the new album brings a bit of a change in sound. The track “Burning Hammer” was included on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 10th May.

“Forever Wild” is the sixth studio album from Swedish band Crazy Lixx and it was released via Frontiers Music on 17th May. I’ve been a fan of the band since their second album in 2010, but this is probably their best album so far. Definitely up there amongst the best releases of the year so far. Singer Danny Rexon was my guest on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 24th May to chat about the new album. We also played four tracks from “Forever Wild”. The singles “Wicked”, “Break Out” and “Silent Thunder” had all been played on previous Shows as well.
Given how often I’ve played tracks from this album over the past few weeks it’s doubtful that I need to post a recommendation to state how good I think it is! On the other hand, it seems only fair that I should. Local rockers Gasoline Outlaws officially released their second album “Light Up The World” on 10th May. However, despite the band being one of many to be badly impacted by the financial mishandling at Pledgemusic, those who had pledged (like myself) received a download of the album back in February. In the fifteen weeks since then I’ve played five of the ten tracks from the album a total of eight times on the Friday NI Rocks Show. Basically, the band has been on the Show every other week, if not every week!

Something a little different! When I hear the name Luke Appleton, I think bass player for Iced Earth and guitarist for Absolva – acoustic guitarist doesn’t naturally spring to mind. However he has proven adept at that genre too – as has his brother Chris previously! Last year Luke released the acoustic EP “How Does It Feel To Be Alive” and on 26th April Rocksector Records released the album “Snake Eyes”. The album is acoustic-based as there is also some electric guitar on there too. I played the track “Inside Out” on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 19th April.
