Worldsend who will be supporting Jeff Scott Soto at the Rock Radio NI event on 4th April are delighted to be involved with the Linenopolis guitar project. The Linenopolis Guitar Tour has been set up to raise money for the Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice (NICH). Belfast artist Dee Craig teamed up with Mama Kaz and The Modern Art Gallery to design a unique guitar with artwork celebrating the local linen industry.
I have to admit I don’t get over excited when I see an album submitted that comes with the genre “melodic rock” identified. Quite often the “rock” in “melodic rock” is hard to find!! However, “Victims of Our Circumstances” by Greek / German band Redrum is an album worth checking out as there’s a harder edge to it that appeals to my tastes. It is released by RMB Records on 26th April 2013.

Bobaflex are a band that I only discovered recently when New Ocean Media sent their album “Hell In My Heart” through to the station. The album is the fourth by the band and was released back in 2011 originally, but it is being re-launched in Europe and is one that I’d highly recommend. Bobaflex consists of brothers Shaun and Martin McCoy who both play guitar and take on lead vocals; with Jerod Mankin on bass and Tommy Johnson on drums. They’re currently in the process of replacing their other guitarist. Shaun was good enough to answer a few questions for Rock Radio NI.
