“Mental Revolution” is the second album from Swedish melodic metal band Nubian Rose. The album was released on 24th November through Limewire / Cargo Records. I must admit that when I first checked out the press release from Rock n Growl Promotions and took a quick listen my initial reaction was a bit uncertain and it fell into that category of releases that need to be downloaded to give a proper listen. I’m really glad that I did as I’ve had the album playing on my iPod fairly constantly for the last few days. “Mental Revolution” is definitely an album worth checking out and one I’d highly recommend. There will be a track on the Friday NI Rocks Show this week and it’ll certainly not be the last appearance by Nubian Rose.

I posted a recommendation for “Rock Savage” the debut album from Lawless back in July 2013. The band are back with an equally commendable second album entitled “R.I.S.E.” that is released through Escape Music on 21st November. In fact, if anything this album is even more worthy of checking out that their debut. Lawless are most definitely purveyors of that classic rock sound that has its roots in the late 70s and 80s. When band members list their influences as Dio, Y&T, Black Sabbath, Scorpions and Saxon that maybe gives you a feel for what you might expect from “R.I.S.E.”
Y & T returned to Belfast on Wednesday 12th November 2014 playing an almost sold-out show in Limelight 1. Celebrating their 40th anniversary, the band played a fantastic two and a half hour show. I don’t write reviews but you can check out one written by Jonny from Belfast Metalheads - http://www.rockradioni.co.uk/news/blogs/belfast-metalheads-reunited/1717-live-review-40-and-going-strong-y-t-keep-on-rockin-hard.html
I do however take a few videos and took 5 of Y&T and 1 of support band Maverick.
