“The Crowning of the Fire King” is the latest album from Swedish doom metal band Sorcerer and it was released on 20th October via Metal Blade Records. The doom metal genre can be a little hit or miss with me personally, but that maybe comes down to the numerous sub-genres that I get lost in! (Have I mentioned recently that I hate the whole sub-genre categorisation thing that goes on in rock music!) However, I judge what I like on what I hear, and I liked this album when I checked it out! The track “Sirens” was included on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 13th October.

“Incendiary” is the debut album from Swedish melodic rock band Code Red and it was released on 20th October via AOR Heaven. The album is toward the more mellow end of my listening preferences, but it is a great example of that genre. I included the track “Heat of the Night” on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 13th October.
‘Warrior’ is the anthemic new single from acclaimed UK act Skarlett Riot. Taken from their upcoming second album ‘Regenerate’. The single was released on 20th October with the album being released on 27th October. ‘Warrior’ is an impassioned and brave anthem, written from Skarlett’s personal experiences.
She explains; ‘Warrior was written as an uplifting message to fans and anyone listening that no matter what life throws at you, no matter how hard times get, you’ll get through it, you’ll come out stronger in the end. The lyrics were written about my personal experience of being bullied at school from a young age, and how small and unimportant that made me feel at the time. I want people to know they're not alone and when they listen to this song I want them to feel braver and stronger.’ Skarlett x

If anyone thought I wasn’t going to post a recommendation for the latest Tyketto release, “Live From Milan”, they clearly don’t know me very well! Granted, I don’t post recommendations for a lot of the live albums or compilations that we get sent or that I play tracks from; but this is Tyketto!! The album was released through Frontiers Music on 13th October and features a performance from the Frontiers Rock Festival that saw the band play every track from their debut album “Don’t Come Easy”. I included “Wings” on the Friday NI Rocks Show this week.
