“Sweet Oblivion” is the self-titled debut album from a new project established to feature the vocals of former Queensrÿche frontman Geoff Tate. More recently of course, Tate has been fronting the band Operation : Mindcrime. The other members of Sweet Oblivion are Italian musicians brought together by Simone Mularoni from the band DGM. I featured the track “True Colors” on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 12th April and on the NI Rocks A-Z Show on 21st May and then “Hide Away” on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 21st June.

I had the good fortune to interview Sons of Apollo guitarist Ron ‘Bumblefoot’ Thal ahead of their show in Belfast last July and I recently interviewed frontman Jeff Scott Soto ahead of the release of the new Soto album by Inside Out Music.

“Furyborn” is the second album from the Chilean band Chaos Magic, fronted by Caterina Nix. It was released on the 14th June by Frontiers Music. The first album, released in 2015, was largely dominated by Timo Tolkki, but this second album is very much driven by Caterina. She talks about “Furyborn” during an interview on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 12th July; when we also play four tracks from the album. I’d previously featured the tracks “Like Never Before”, “Furyborn” and “I’m Your Cancer” on the Show over the past few weeks.
There are two NI Rocks Shows uploaded each week on Rock Radio NI. These are the playlists for those shows for the month of June – all of which are still available from the On Demand Player. There are tracks by around 130 different artists on the Shows this month. Playlists for May were published previously and these Shows are also available via the On Demand Player – http://www.rockradioni.co.uk/news/rrni-updates/3603-ni-rocks-playlists-for-may-2019.html
This month the Friday NI Rocks Show included separate interviews with Alliance members Gary Pihl (who is also part of Boston) and Robert Berry (who is also in 3.2) . All interviews can be found here - http://www.rockradioni.co.uk/interviews.html
