On the Friday NI Rocks Show this week we’ve 16 tracks. The tracks either have a link to gigs in The Limelight in Belfast this weekend or are featured as new releases. We open with Kiss and close with Motorhead as tribute bands Hotter Than Hell and Motorheaders play The Limelight on Friday 28th October. Local bands Stormzone and Sinocence feature as they are part of Distortion Fest on Saturday 29th and then we have Fastway, Girlschool and Saxon who play The Limelight on Sunday 30th.
There are new releases from The Answer, FM, Eden’s Curse, Kings of the Sun, Kix, Pretty Maids, Hardline, Whiskey Myers and Secret Sphere.

“Cardinal” is the latest studio album from Eden’s Curse and it was released on 14th October by AFM Records. The melodic metal band formed in 2006 and has been through a number of line-up changes. Over the past ten years they’ve managed to release not only five studio albums, but a live album (“Live With The Curse” in 2015) and a couple of EPs as well. The “melodic metal” genre can be hit or miss with me personally, but I enjoyed listening to “Cardinal” and it definitely deserves a recommendation. The track “Sell Your Soul” was played on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 14th October and “Unconditional” which features former Leaves Eyes singer Liv Kristine is on the Show on 28th October.
“Human Nature” is the fifth studio album from Hardline and it was released by Frontiers Records on 14th October. The band is probably best known for their 1992 debut “Double Eclipse” and the inclusion of guitarist Neal Schon (Journey and Bad English) in the original line-up. There is much more to the band than that though and the latest album firmly places them in the modern era with 12 great rock tracks. I played the lead-off single “Where Will We Go From Here” on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 9th September.
