“The Vision” by Arizona band Wycked Synn is one of two re-releases that we received recently from HighVolMusic; and both are worth checking out. This album was originally released on the Chavis Records label back in 2003. It has now been picked up by HighVolMusic and was re-released on 6th January. I played the title track “The Vision” on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 3rd February.

The band broke up not long after the release of the album which featured Gary Grant on vocals, Keith Miller on drums, Jerre La Mar on bass and Ken Orth on guitar. Chances are then that most people in the UK won’t have heard of the band. That should never stop you checking something out though.

There are 11 tracks on “The Vision”, including a short intro. My own favourites are “The Vision”, “Evil Ways”, “Till The End” and “The Savior”.

It turns out that another album has been virtually completed – all that is missing is a singer it seems! Guitarist, Ken Orth (aka Ken Cassell), tried out a few known names, but never seemed to get that sound he was looking for. A case of “watch this space” perhaps? Cassell has also contributed a track to a new compilation album being released by HighVolMusic.

The other re-release from HighVolMusic that I’ll be posting about is “13 Crows” by Snake Eyes Seven.

About “NI Rocks Recommends”

The simple idea behind “NI Rocks Recommends” is to acknowledge and promote some of the great music being submitted to Rock Radio NI. I'll not be giving marks or ratings or analyzing the tracks in great detail; just telling you something about the artist and the album. It’s a personal recommendation to go check something out, not a traditional “review”!

My musical tastes cover most things rock; from the not too melodic to the not too heavy. The albums that I’ll be recommending are those that you’ll hear me playing tracks from on my shows on Rock Radio NI.
