LA based Heaven Below released their third album, entitled “Good Morning Apocalypse”, through the EMP Label on 14th October 2016. As reported in an earlier news update on the RRNI website, the album features guest appearances from Lita Ford, Jason McMaster (Dangerous Toys, Broken Teeth, Watchtower), Udo Dirkschneider (U.D.O., Accept) and Kobra Paige (Kobra and the Lotus). The track “Running Under Satan’s Hand” which features Lita Ford on vocals was included on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 7th October.

Heaven Below was formed in 2007 by former Union Underground guitarist Patrick Kennison. The initial line-up changed prior to the release of the band’s debut album “Countdown to Devil” in 2009. That album included the break-through track “When Daylight Dies” which was produced by Ben Moody of Evanescence.

Work began on writing a concept album about 4 years ago and it all came to fruition when the band signed with David Ellefson's EMP Label Group. In the interim Kennison had joined the Lita Ford band in 2014 and his new ‘boss’ is probably the highest profile guest contributor to the album.

Heaven Below are Patrick Kennison on vocals and guitars, Lucas Kanopa on guitars, John Younger  on bass and Shad Wilhelm on drums.

In addition to “Running Under Satan’s Hand” which features Lita Ford, my favourite tracks would be the first single “Renegade Protest Movement”, “Devilina And The Damage Done” that features Kobra Paige and “Among The Wolves / Worldwide Suicide”.

About “NI Rocks Recommends”

The simple idea behind “NI Rocks Recommends” is to acknowledge and promote some of the great music being submitted to Rock Radio NI. I'll not be giving marks or ratings or analyzing the tracks in great detail; just telling you something about the artist and the album. It’s a personal recommendation to go check something out, not a traditional “review”!

My musical tastes cover most things rock; from the not too melodic to the not too heavy. The albums that I’ll be recommending are those that you’ll hear me playing tracks from on my shows on Rock Radio NI.
