New Jersey band Trixter released a new album called “Human Era” through Frontiers Records on 5th June. If you’ve been listening to the Friday NI Rocks Show you’ll have heard me playing “Rockin’ to the Edge of the Night” and “Crash That Party” recently. Trixter had proven with their comeback album entitled “New Audio Machine” in 2012 that they could still deliver great rock tracks and with “Human Era” they have upped their game even further.

It’s now 25 years since the release of Trixter’s self titled debut album in 1990 brought the band into the limelight; with three high profile singles, tours in North America and Japan and appearances on stage alongside some of the biggest names in the rock scene of the early 90’s.

The Trixter line-up features Peter Loran on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Steve Brown on lead guitar, P.J. Farley on bass and Mark “Gus” Scott on drums. Loran and Brown were founding members of the band in 1983 whilst Farley joined in 1988 and Scott in 1984, so essentially the band is the same one that enjoyed a certain amount of fame in the early 90’s. The band split in 1995 but announced their re-formation in late 2007. Check out https://www.facebook.com/trixterrocks for more information.

As well as the two tracks I’ve already featured, my favourite tracks would include “For You”, “Soul of a Lovin’ Man” and the title track “Human Era”.

About “NI Rocks Recommends”

The simple idea behind “NI Rocks Recommends” is to acknowledge and promote some of the great music being submitted to Rock Radio NI. I'll not be giving marks or ratings or analyzing the tracks in great detail; just telling you something about the artist and the album. It’s a personal recommendation, not a traditional “review”!

My musical tastes cover most things rock; from the not too melodic to the not too heavy. The albums that I’ll be recommending are merely those that I would buy myself and which you’ll be hearing played on my shows on Rock Radio NI.
