FIRST of all thanks to all who read this blog - this is the 1,001st post and from our inbox loads of you still read the ramblings contained within.

Now down to business - that's the rock 'n' roll business. Before starting I want to say the Belfast Telegraph can piss away off.

IN every reviewers life there comes a time to put aside the notepad and the carefully hewn phrase from the bedrock of lingual sources and just enjoy the fecking gig.

Amongst the amateur crowd there is a temptation to assume that the wide world of the 'tinterweb gives them carte blanche to type their views, without ever realising that a

BONAFIDE formed in Sweden in 2006, releasing their first self-titled album in 2007, followed by a second album “Something’s Dripping” in 2009. They had a busy few years touring and promoting the album before releasing the EP “Fill Your Head With Rock – Old, New, Tried & True” in 2011. The third full album “Ultimate Rebel” was released to great reviews in August 2012. The band start a 13 date tour of the UK on 16th November, culminating in their second appearance at Hard Rock Hell on 1st December. This includes their first appearance in Northern Ireland at the DIAMOND ROCK CLUB on Saturday 17th November.

Bonafide are Pontus Snibb on vocals and guitar, Mikael Fassberg on guitar, Martin Ekelund on bass and Niklas Matsson on drums. Mikael was good enough to sit down and answer a few questions ahead of their arrival in the UK.

NI Rocks Recommends

I'm not a reviewer but wanted to acknowledge some of the great music being submitted to Rock Radio NI by artists, promoters and labels both within and outside of N Ireland. That was the idea behind “NI Rocks Recommends”. I'm not giving marks or ratings, trying to categorise bands or compare artists. To be honest I’m not really a big fan of most reviews as they’re simply one person’s opinion!! Therefore “NI Rocks Recommends” is just my personal recommendation. Let's just say that if I've went to the bother of writing this, I think it's worth taking a listen to and you’ll be hearing it played on my shows on Rock Radio NI!!

NI ROCKS – Welcome Hessler, thanks for taking some time out to answer a few questions for Rock Radio NI. Just to set some background; you’re a band based in Chicago who released their first album “Bad Blood” in April 2011 with the second album launching later this year.  I’ve been following the band and playing tracks on my show for over a year; I think since reading a review of the first album on Sleaze Roxx and receiving the tracks through from Igz.

The band consists of Lariyah Daniels on vocals, Igz Kincaid and Frankie Snakes Sripada on lead & rhythm guitars, Erik Michael on bass and Marcus Lee Cox on drums.

LET’S face it, heavy music isn’t always designed for reflect happy thoughts. In our world of distorted guitars, heavy bass and damned drums lyrically our music is a mélange of flavours of hatred and hopelessness, torment and terror.

BACK in April of this year an alcohol-induced coma was complemented by an awesome display of how to rock the shit right out of Ormeau Avenue - yep Orange Goblin and alcohol messed us big time and we enjoyed the hell out of it.

While our collective livers may tremble at this post, the rest of our functioning body parts are screaming hell
