“The Calling” is the fifth album from English metal band Primitai and it was released on 25th May via Dissonance Records. The band have been around for 15 years and are inspired by the classic metal bands, but deliver their own brand of melodic metal. Over the years they’ve played alongside NWOBHM legends, thrash and power metal bands and sleaze rockers. I included the track “Overdrive” on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 1st June.

Stone Broken released their second album, “Ain’t Always Easy” through Spinefarm Records in March and have been busy touring in support of it ever since. They played their first gig in Belfast on 12th June when they supported Buckcherry in The Limelight. I met up with singer Rich Moss ahead of the show and chatted for about 25 minutes about the album, future plans and more. That interview, plus 4 tracks from the album, was featured on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 15th June. That Show is now available on our MixCloud page - https://www.mixcloud.com/NIRocks/interview-with-rich-moss-from-stone-broken-on-he-friday-ni-rocks-show-on-15th-june-2018/

“Constellation” is the new album from the German band Fargo that originally formed in 1973 and released their last album in 1982. More than 35 years after that release the band reformed to record a new album which was released through Steamhammer/SPV on 25th May. The band had quite a bit of success up to 1984 when it morphed into the group Victory and had even more success. I’ve included the opening track “Step Back” on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 1st June.

“Shitfaced And Outta Luck” is the debut album from German hard rock band Motor City Mayhem and it was released on 25th May via Metalapolis Records. The band had previously performed under the name Shotgun Express, but had decided to rebrand after the original singer left. The album feature ten full throttle, dirty rock n roll tracks and the band name is quite appropriate! The track “Bad Habit” was included on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 25th May.

Ryan Roxie released his first solo album, entitled “Imagine Your Reality” through Cargo Records on 25th May. Roxie, best known as one of Alice Cooper’s guitarists, has also been a member of Slash’s Snakepit and Swedish band Casablanca and has released albums fronting his own project Roxie 77. On “Imagine Your Reality” however, he has worked with a number of musicians and it is truly a solo album rather than a band release. Ryan was my guest on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 11th May when we played 4 tracks from the new album – http://www.rockradioni.co.uk/interviews/3359-ni-rocks-interview-with-ryan-roxie-may-2018.html

The band is fronted by Virginia Lillye, a former performer in musicals such as Cats and Grease around Europe, who then returned to Australia to start a rock band. “Icons of the New Days” is the third album from Lords of Black and it was released via Frontiers Music on 11th May. The band has developed a wide support base since its foundation in 2014 not due only to the quality of the music, but as a result of lead singer Ronnie Romero being chosen by Richie Blackmore to front Rainbow. The release of this third album will only serve to enhance that following. I played the track “Icons of the New Days” on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 16th March, “World Gone Mad” on 13th April and “When A Hero Takes A Fall” on 18th May.
