Twenty years after the release of their debut album, Hardcore Superstar has released their latest offering “You Can’t Kill My Rock n Roll”. The new album was released on 21st September via Gain Music Entertainment. When I interviewed lead singer Jocke Berg in Belfast almost a year ago he had thought that the album might be released in early 2018 but it has taken slightly longer. In the interim though, the band have released six singles / videos from the album, most of which have featured on the NI Rocks Shows on Rock Radio NI at some time.

Hardcore Superstar formed in Gothenburg in 1997 and released their debut album in October 1998. The new album is their eleventh studio release and there was a compilation album in 2011. The previous studio album was “HCSS” in 2015.


There have been very few changes to the Hardcore Superstar line-up over the years with founding members Jocke Berg and bass player Martin Sandvik remaining. Drummer Magnus ‘Adde’ Andreasson has been with the band since 1999 and guitarist Vic Zino since 2008 (when he replaced founding member Thomas Silver).


There are 12 tracks on the album and videos have been released for “Have Mercy On Me”, “Electric Rider”, “Baboon”, “Bring The House Down”, “AD/HD” and the title track “You Can’t Kill My Rock n Roll”.
