Nigel Bailey was a guest on the Friday NI Rocks Show back in February when we talked about his involvement in the band Three Lions (alongside former Dare / Ten members Vinny Burns and Greg Morgan) and the release of the debut album from his band Bailey. At that time he was already busy working on a new project called Lifeline which sees him sharing vocals with Lee Small (from Shy and Phenomena). The band released their debut album “Scream” through Escape Music on 23rd October.

A video has been released for the single “Jezebel” that features a number of guest appearances (including Veronica Freeman who has also been a guest on the Show) and I’ve played this track a few times on the Friday NI Rocks Show.  Other favourites from amongst the 12 tracks on the album include “Fear No More”, “Far From Home”, “Scream”, “Destination Freedom” and “A Fortunate Man”.

Nigel Bailey and Lee Small were introduced by Khalil Turk from Escape Music and they soon decided to record an album on which they shared vocal duties. They brought in Paul Hume (from Demon and Lawless) to play guitar and to produce, mix and master the album. Other additions were drummer Steve Clarkson (who is also in the band Bailey when they play live) and Andy Bailey who plays keyboards in Lifeline, Three Kings and Bailey.

“NI Rocks Recommends”

The simple idea behind “NI Rocks Recommends” is to acknowledge and promote some of the great music being submitted to Rock Radio NI. I'll not be giving marks or ratings or analyzing the tracks in great detail; just telling you something about the artist and the album. It’s a personal recommendation, not a traditional “review”!

My musical tastes cover most things rock; from the not too melodic to the not too heavy. The albums that I’ll be recommending are merely those that I would buy myself and which you’ll be hearing played on my shows on Rock Radio NI.
