Falling into the category of “no-brainer” when it comes to listening to an album and deciding whether or not to write an “NI Rocks Recommends” is the new live album from Lita Ford entitled “The Bitch Is Back..Live”. Recorded in California in October 2012 the album contains 12 tracks : mainly from the classic albums of the 80's with a few from “Living Like A Runaway” which was released last year. Notably there are no tracks from the “Wicked Wonderland” album released in 2009, with “Living Like A Runaway” now justifiably seen as Lita’s real comeback album.

The opening track which gives its name to the album is a cover of the Elton John track and had appeared as a bonus track on “Living Like A Runaway”. There have been other Lita Ford compilations and a live album back in 2000 but this one is definitely worth investing in, whether you be a slightly older fan from the 80s like myself or one of the younger generation of rock fans who just appreciate good music!

“The Bitch Is Back…Live” is released by SPV / Steamhammer in Germany on 25th October, in the UK and rest of Europe on 28th October and in N America on 5th November.

About “NI Rocks Recommends”

I'm not a reviewer but wanted to acknowledge some of the great music being submitted to Rock Radio NI by artists, promoters and labels both within and outside of N Ireland. That was the idea behind “NI Rocks Recommends”. I'm not giving marks or ratings, trying to categorise bands or compare artists. The albums that I’ll be recommending would be those I’d buy myself, so there’ll be a strong focus on “classic rock” sounds; however you wish to define that! What you won’t get is death metal or similar genres. Each to his own, but that ain’t what I choose to listen to!

To be honest I’m not really a big fan of the whole idea of “Reviews” as they’re simply one person’s opinion!!  “NI Rocks Recommends” is therefore just my personal recommendation. Let's just say that if I've went to the bother of writing this, I think it's worth taking a listen to and you’ll be hearing it played on my shows on Rock Radio NI!!
