Bands like Trucker Diablo and albums like “Songs of Iron” are what led me to start NI Rocks over 4 years ago. Great local bands producing fantastic music that should be heard by rock fans around the world!! Of course in the three years since I first saw Trucker Diablo perform, the band has engineered a fairly successful assault on the international music scene, getting signed to Ripple Music, making numerous festival appearances and supporting some big name bands. The band’s second album “Songs of Iron” is the next step up the ladder and is released on 14th May.

I could wax lyrical about how awesome all the tracks are and praise the production, song writing, great riffage etc but I might start to sound like a reviewer and that wouldn’t do at all!! Lol. “NI Rocks Recommends” is about recommending music to listen to and I would strongly recommend that you buy this album!! There are already some excellent reviews of the album out there, including one by Rock Radio NI’s resident blogger Jonny - http://www.rockradioni.co.uk/news/blogs/belfast-metalheads-reunited/1192-iron-grooves-killer-hooks-bow-to-the-big-truck.html - and there will be many more to come, so if my recommendation isn’t enough check out someone else’s opinion.

Anyone who has seen the band ripping up stages across the UK and Ireland will be familiar with some of the tracks on “Songs of Iron”. Indeed some have already taken on anthemic status. Those that you don’t already know will very quickly get under your skin, in the best possible way!! A big thumbs up from NI Rocks –  that’s getting dangerously close to sounding like a review so I’m saying no more! Just go and buy the album!

About “NI Rocks Recommends”

I'm not a reviewer but wanted to acknowledge some of the great music being submitted to Rock Radio NI by artists, promoters and labels both within and outside of N Ireland. That was the idea behind “NI Rocks Recommends”. I'm not giving marks or ratings, trying to categorise bands or compare artists. The albums that I’ll be recommending would be those I’d buy myself, so there’ll be a strong focus on “classic rock” sounds; however you wish to define that! What you won’t get is death metal or similar genres. Each to his own, but that ain’t what I choose to listen to!

To be honest I’m not really a big fan of the whole idea of “Reviews” as they’re simply one person’s opinion!!  “NI Rocks Recommends” is therefore just my personal recommendation. Let's just say that if I've went to the bother of writing this, I think it's worth taking a listen to and you’ll be hearing it played on my shows on Rock Radio NI!!
