The new album by Swedish rockers Bai Bang was sent to us by AOR Heaven to check out before its release on 29th April. I have to admit I wasn’t too sure about doing an “NI Rocks Recommends” when I first gave the tracks a brief listen. The first two tracks “Everybody Everywhere” and “Gonna Make It” certainly ticked the box but a quick skip through the rest of the album hadn’t convinced me. It was only when I had time to sit down and listen to the album properly that the strength and quality of the remaining tracks came through. There are some real catchy tunes and great guitar solos on this album!

Bai Bang have been around since the 80s although “All Around The World” is only their seventh studio album. Making up for recording only four albums in their first twenty years, this is their third album in four years. The previous two albums “Are You Ready” and “Livin My Dream” received a fair bit of recognition and the band have toured quite extensively over the past few years, including a couple of gigs in London in February of this year.

About “NI Rocks Recommends”

I'm not a reviewer but wanted to acknowledge some of the great music being submitted to Rock Radio NI by artists, promoters and labels both within and outside of N Ireland. That was the idea behind “NI Rocks Recommends”. I'm not giving marks or ratings, trying to categorise bands or compare artists. The albums that I’ll be recommending would be those I’d buy myself, so there’ll be a strong focus on “classic rock” sounds; however you wish to define that! What you won’t get is death metal or similar genres. Each to his own, but that ain’t what I choose to listen to!

To be honest I’m not really a big fan of the whole idea of “Reviews” as they’re simply one person’s opinion!!  “NI Rocks Recommends” is therefore just my personal recommendation. Let's just say that if I've went to the bother of writing this, I think it's worth taking a listen to and you’ll be hearing it played on my shows on Rock Radio NI!!
